The 70-year-old Navy veteran is in critical condition after helping victims of a house fire

Retired Marine veteran and hero Terry Bagley Sr. is fighting for his life after he dashes into a burning building in Baltimore, Maryland to rescue a mother and daughter trapped in the aftermath of a building explosion Tuesday night.

Hero is in critical condition at a Maryland hospital. Mother and daughter were upgraded to stable condition.

American Military News reports:

Bagley entered the building and tried to save them, but another part of the house fell on him. He remained in hospital in critical condition Thursday, unable to celebrate the holiday he began cooking days earlier. Officials said the other two victims were taken to a stable condition on Wednesday.

Fire spokesman Roman Clark said the cause of the explosion is still under investigation. Agitated neighbors told reporters at the scene that the Baltimore Gas & Electric Company had been doing business in the area recently. BGE workers were also present at the blast site the next day.

Bagley’s daughter, Iris Bagley, said he was placed in a medically induced coma because his injuries were extensive, including a broken pelvis, femur and hand. She said doctors delayed the surgery on Wednesday in hopes his heart would get stronger. They planned to complete the surgery on Thursday.

But she said his pain was great; You can see tears in his eyes. She spent hours with him at Shock Trauma on Wednesday, telling him his family was proud of him and that everything was going to be okay.

“We just pray for the surgeon’s hand and pray that my father is so stubborn that he doesn’t want to leave us yet,” she said.

Bagley’s son Terry shared the story on Facebook GoFundMe Created to support the medical care of his hero father.

“Hi everyone, My father, Terry Bagley Sr., was seriously injured while trying to save two people in the Bigtown explosion yesterday afternoon. As my father was walking to the grocery store, he noticed the situation and stepped in to help bring two people to safety. As a result of this heroic act, My father was crushed from the wreckage until the firefighters found him.My father is a 70 year old veteran who put his life on the line to ensure the safety of others.He is currently in Shock Trauma, having to undergo multiple surgeries due to this traumatic event.It has not been easy We as a family have to see what he’s going through now. My father has faced many ordeals in his life, and we are praying that things will get better in time. We are asking for additional help for his medical expenses due to not knowing how much his insurance covers. Thank you in advance from my family to yours!”

The New York Post reported:

Nikki Scandino has been charged with murder and other crimes after police initially believed her father, Carlo Secondino, had been stabbed to death during an early morning home invasion at their Bensonhurst home.

Sources told The Post earlier Thursday that Nicki is suspected of making up a fake break-in story to cover up her brutal crime.

But the tale quickly unraveled and the alleged killer was also charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the horrific attack in which her 19-year-old sister was stabbed.

The younger sister was taken to Maimonides Hospital in critical condition.

Nikki smiled, but ignored reporters’ questions, as investigators led her out of Brooklyn’s 62nd Precinct Thursday night.

A neighbor of Secondinos also said she heard Nikki Make a phone call in the hallway after the murder, claiming that the family was robbed by home invaders, who also stabbed them.
