Up the platform to answer the question.

“Joe Biden,” Cooper responded quickly. After making sure the question was about what comes after Biden’s term in the White House, the North Carolinian offered, “I think there’s a great future for everyone here.”

The 16 CEOs who spoke to Politico at the conference were quick to say that Biden is doing a great job, and if he ran for a second term he would have their support.

But the fact that the future of the party – if not the next Democratic presidential candidate – was located in this hotel was also hard to miss.

“We’re increasingly diverse, and increasingly representative of the great diversity of this country,” Whitmer said in an interview. “It’s a very deep platform right now for executive leaders who have to solve problems and work with anybody…and I think those are the skills and experiences that should underpin a lot of the work Democrats are doing across the country.”
