Could handkerchiefs contaminated with poison be a tactic to target black women?

Published

on

A disturbing trend is emerging after several black women have come forward to share their horrifying experiences with poison-drenched tissues on social media.

It all started with a Houston woman named Erin Mims. Mims shared her experience with a handkerchief she found stuck in her car door handle after leaving the restaurant with her husband.

She mentioned in her video that she took off the handkerchief with her fingertips, washed her hands right after, and before she knew it she started experiencing symptoms that led to her hospitalization.

The viral video of the poison handkerchief is leading countless black women to the front with similar experiences

Since this viral video, countless other women have come forward to share similar experiences including an Atlanta woman named Laysha White who recently found a suspicious piece of paper sticking out of her box.

In this episode of TSR Investigates we’ll talk live with Mark Winter…the managing director of the Poison Center in Southeast Houston to see the insight he can provide.

Are black women specifically targeted? If so, what should a woman do to stay safe? Shadow room check…

Erin Mims had a horrific Christmas experience this year, when she ended up in the hospital after being poisoned with an unknown substance that was placed on a handkerchief inside her car door handle.

Using her fingertips to remove the handkerchief, she said that within minutes she felt symptoms, a burning sensation in the chest, rapid heart rate, hot flashes…

“Within five minutes, my entire arm started to numb and numb, after which I couldn’t breathe, started having hot flashes, my chest was hurting, and my heart was beating really fast,” Mims told local Fox network in Houston.

Urine tests, blood screens, inconclusive CAT scans, countless other black women come forward with similar stories.

Doctors performed urine tests, blood tests, and even CT scans, and the exact source of her poisoning was still inconclusive.

However, she still had “acute intoxication with an unknown substance,” according to doctors, but the scary part was the similar stories that followed.

Countless other black women started coming forward with stories of being poisoned by mysterious chemicals.

Laysha White filmed a similar video and posted it on social media, showing the type of wipes that were used when she was also taken to hospital after experiencing symptoms of poisoning.

Another woman photographed a $5 bill on the sidewalk in Bay Point, California, which was coated with a similar chemical and left in front of an ATM. She warned her followers that people were using money to poison black women.

“So, you will know that people are trying to poison people with money, right?” She said in the video. “Don’t fall in love with her.”

Confused by the cases of poisoning, authorities presented multiple chemicals as potential poisoning

Both the DEA and the Houston Police Department were perplexed by the Mims case, which was left as inconclusive as the number of similar stories that followed.

A number of possibilities have been put forward as to what the chemicals might be. Fentanyl is a fast-acting powder that can be deadly and can be absorbed through the skin.

Others have hypothesized that some weeds might have been weeds, or even lethal to insects that were banned in the 1980s. One of the cases involved a chemical that could only be accessed by the military.

Critics noted Mims’ admission of being a phobia of germs, and put forward the idea that it could have been a panic attack.

The director general of the Houston Poison Control Center talks about cases of rashes of poisoning

The shadow room spoke to Mark Winter, managing director of the Southeast Houston Poison Center, who acknowledged the existence of substances that could “disable within a few minutes of contact.”

Winter added that there are few chemicals that would cause immediate poisoning symptoms, nor did she dismiss the idea that it might be triggered by a panic attack, too, saying, “The mind is a powerful thing.”

“You can believe you’re exposed and think you’re having problems, and the more you think about it, the worse it gets,” Winter said.

Criminal cases remain unsolved: “If you notice something in your car, drive to the police station”

However, White said she would not feel very comfortable, and cautioned any black woman who came into contact with such scanty substances to go to the hospital immediately, even if the symptoms were mental.

“If you notice something in your car, drive to the police station,” White said. “You don’t know who is following you or is following you.”

Winter went on to say that human bodies can react very differently to different substances, but its best practice is to remain aware of your surroundings at all times.

Meanwhile, any kind of criminal investigation remains unresolved in the Mims and White cases.

George RR Martin answers ‘Game of Thrones’ question about Casterly Rock

Hello, are you there. Yes you! Ever wonder what Casterly Rock looks like? to me George RR MartinThere was “a certain amount of confusion” about the appearance of House Lannister’s ancestral home. Luckily game of thronesFans everywhere, Martin is taking a break from his hard work Winter winds To clarify a question no one is asking.

On his trusted blog, Martin posted a lengthy world-building meditation intended to “relieve” any confusion about Casterly Rock. “A certain amount of confusion” is an awfully slippery term, isn’t it? on condition Thrones Fans at the gates of King’s Landing didn’t exactly chatter about it, and I’ll interpret that to mean “little or nothing.” In the blog post, Martin shared a (very low-res) illustration by Ted Nasmith, whose paintings of Westeros were used in game of thrones Calendars plus files worldbook companion The world of ice and fire. “Ted got every little detail right,” Martin wrote, retracting many of the architectural features Nesmith extracted from his novels. The author continued, “If you look closely, here and there scattered up and down the face of the stand, you can see windows and arrow slits.” It’s impossible to see those features in this adorable photo, so I suppose we’ll have to take his word for it.

You see, Martin has a bone to pick with how fans imagine this scene. “Lannister Castle is not at the top of the rock,” he asserted. “It’s inside the rock.” Should the man insist on controlling how readers conceive of his worlds within the privacy of their own imagination? What does it matter – and how does any of this criticism bring him closer to ending the series once and for all? Martin seems to acknowledge the futility of this blog post, writing, “What does all this mean? Probably nothing. I just wanted to set the record straight. Give you everything to think about.” (And maybe put an end to all these pictures of a little rock with a castle on top .)”

The author notes that his novels never pay a proper visit to Casterly Rock; Although the Lannister stronghold has been mentioned hundreds of times, as well as glimpses through characters’ flashbacks, it never really puts the story there in the proper timeline. But maybe it will change. “I hope Casterly Rock doesn’t stay offstage forever,” he wrote. “I have two more novels, and my plan is to have one or more of my point-of-view characters visit The Rock Inn Winter winds or Spring dreamso that I may show you all the wonders, horrors, and treasures of House Lannister first hand.”

At this point, he’s just teasing us, right? Hey George – While things rest, do them Winter winds Next!
