Legendary designer Giorgio Armani has passed away at the age of 91. The Italian-born fashion icon died peacefully on September 4, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
His company announced the news, calling him the driving force behind the brand:
“With deep sorrow, we share the passing of our founder, Giorgio Armani. Known simply as ‘Mr. Armani,’ he dedicated his life to creativity and elegance, working tirelessly until his final days.”
Armani launched his label in 1975 with a small office and limited funds, building it into a global empire now worth an estimated $10 billion. His minimalist yet refined style reshaped modern fashion and extended into lifestyle, culture, and design.
Despite recent health struggles, he remained active, revealing plans just last month for a Milan exhibition. Reflecting on his career, he said: “If what I created fifty years ago is still admired by those not yet born then, that is the greatest reward.”
His family and company vowed to continue his legacy of independence, innovation, and devotion to Milan. Armani’s influence on fashion will live on for generations.
